Aircraft technical drawings

Conservation of a rare photomechanical print of technical drawings of the aircraft ANBO-IV.

This aircraft was a version of the first Lithuanian aircraft, designed by Antanas Gustaitis. The authentic drawings did not survive, thus these prints have a great value. The engineers in collaboration with Lithuanian Aviation Museum are working on the aircraft reconstruction model based on the collection technical drawings.

The prints are made on a very sensitive paper and the size of the drawings are quite challenging. Most of them were folded and the, after they tore, they were repaired using a pressure sensitive tape, which made the conservation even more difficult.

Lithuanian Museum of Aviation, document no. LAM GEK−5789/RD 1693.

A conservation project conducted by Vilnius University Library from 2017.
